SWES helps people in need by providing nutritional assistance through our Food Pantry and Emergency Financial Assistance to families who are facing eviction or BGE/utility shutoffs.
What we offer
Help for neighbors from neighbors in the Arbutus area.
Food assistance
Perishable and non-perishable groceries for individuals and families. Open Mon, Wed and Fri, 9:00 – 11:30 am.
Emergency financial assistance
Help for families who are facing eviction or BGE/utility shutoffs within our service area.
Personal care items
Soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, feminine products and other essentials SNAP will not cover.
Who qualifies
Emergency financial assistance
For residents of 21227, or of 21229 (Baltimore County) on the Arbutus side of Wilkens Ave. Members of one of our member churches also qualify regardless of address.
Open to all
Food
Regardless of address, no one requesting food on a one-time basis will be turned away. Come to the entrance off Shelbourne Rd, adjacent to Maple Ave.

- Frozen chicken, ground beef, frozen fish
- Canned meat – tuna, chicken, salmon
- Peanut butter, jam and jelly
- Rice, pasta and shelf-stable milk
- Toilet paper and toiletries
Please no clothing, furniture, cribs, TVs, car seats, or large toys.
